Tour Schedule Argolis

Duration: Full Day

1. Departure from Athens

Start the full-day tour early in the morning. Follow the coastal National Highway to the Corinth Canal.

2. Corinth Canal Stop

Make a short 15-minute stop at the Corinth Canal, passing through the narrow land bridge, the Isthmus.

3. Ancient Epidaurus

Proceed to Ancient Epidaurus, birthplace of Asclepius, the God of medicine. Explore the Sanctuary of Asclepius and the great Theatre, masterpieces of Greek architecture (4th century BC). Experience the superb acoustics and well-preserved construction that contributed to the Epidaurus Festival.

4. Nafplio Exploration

Continue to Nafplio, one of Greece’s most picturesque cities and the first capital of the newly born Greek state in 1823. Enjoy a relaxed lunch break with views of Bourtzi castle in the Nafplio harbor. Visit Palamidi, a dominating fortress floating over the city.

5. Mycenae Visit

On the way back to Athens, approximately 25 km away, reach Mycenae, named after the Mycenaean Civilization (1600 BC to 1100 BC). Explore the legendary Lion Gate, the main entrance to the Bronze Age citadel, surrounded by the massive Cyclopean Wall. Visit the tomb of King Agamemnon and the Mycenae museum for insights into the city’s culture.
